Warmate will be a beginning for a whole series of products that is going to be based around this idea of using a strike and reconnaissance system within a single object – as it was stated by Adam Bartosiewicz, Vice-President at the WB Electronics company.
On Monday, 20th November 2017, Agreement was concluded between the NIL military unit and the WB Electronics company, covering deliveries of 1000 examples of the Warmate loitering munitions. The procurement subject is divided into 100 sets. The whole acquisition is to cost more than PLN 100 million. Both the operational units, as well as the Territorial Defence and Special Operations Forces, would receive the aforesaid armament.
In his interview with Defence24.pl, Vice President of the WB Electronics company, Adam Bartosiewicz, was stressing the fact that this system would provide the user with an ability to strike targets at safe distances. The whole solution may be used even by the smallest of the military units.
Furthermore, Bartosiewicz added that Warmate is a new system within the inventory of the A rmed Forces, and thus it would require a new doctrine to be developed for its operational use, both by the SOF, as well as by the other components of the military. As Bartosiewicz stressed, ”This system is in its infancy […] Warmate will be a beginning for a whole series of products that is going to be based around this idea of using a strike and reconnaissance system within a single object.”.
