US Army Patriot Missiles Will Be Deployed To Poland

US Army will deploy a unit equipped with the elements of the Patriot air defence system, which is going to participate in exercises which are being carried out in Poland – According to Informacyjna Agencja Radiowa [Information  Radio Agency].

According to the Information Radio Agency, plans regarding deployment of the Patriot system elements in Poland were revealed by Commander Janusz Walczak, working for the Polish Ministry of Defence. Joint exercise, involving the units equipped with the anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems is to take place at the end of March.

Patriot systems had also been present in Poland earlier, during the Victory Strike exercise, which was organized right after Poland entered the NATO alliance. Units using the Patriot missiles were also involved in training operations within the Polish territory between 2010 and 2012.

The Patriot air-defence system is being offered by the Rayethon company, within the programme, aim of which is aimed at acquisition of the “Wisła” anti-aircraft and anti-missile system. SAMP/T system proposed by the Eurosam company, is also being considered here.
