The head of the Polish MoD stated, in an interview for TVN 24 TV station, that JASSM supplies may start in a year and a half or two years from now, at the same time claiming that USA is eager to sell JASSM missiles for Poland quickly, in order to equip the Polish F-16 fighters. Siemoniak provided no information regarding the potential value of the deal.

The Agreement needs two Parties, hence I do not want to speak on behalf of the Americans, but it is evident that the USA also wants the procedure to be executed quickly and effectively – Siemoniak stated in an interview for TVN24, regarding the Polish JASSM acquisition.

Earlier this month the US State Department accepted the plan to sell 40 AGM-158A JASSM missiles for Poland, along with a modernization bundle for the Polish Air Force F-16C/D Block 52+ jet fighters. The estimated value of the bid stated was USD 500 million. JASSM missiles are capable of precision-striking the targets at a range of up to 370 km. In the beginning of September Defence24.pl has said that potential modernization programme of the F-16 jet fighters, including equipping them with JASSM missiles, may begin next year.
