The Armament Inspectorate of the Polish MoD announced that five bidders declared their willingness to participate in the procurement procedure, aimed at delivering 20 mm rounds for the cannons of the F-16C/D Jastrząb aircraft, operated by the Polish Air Force. All of the bidders have met the formal requirements, and thus they have been officially invited to place their bids.

The procurement procedure in question concerns the 20 mm NB MP LD M70 A1 multi-purpose (or similar) ammunition for the M61 Vulcan cannons. Each of the F-16s employs a fixed Gatling gun as such that is used for close engagements. The following companies expressed their willingness to participate in the procurement process:

  • MESKO S.A. (sole domestic manufacturer of ammunition as such, with relevant technology acquired from the Nammo company, within the framework of the F-16 offset);
  • MEGMAR LOGISTICS & CONSULTING Sp. z o.o.;
  • WORKS 11 Sp. z o.o.;
  • UMO Sp. z o.o.;
  • CENZIN Sp. z o.o.

As all of the bidders listed have met the formal requirements, and it was assumed that up to 10 entities could be invited to place their bids, all of the aforesaid businesses will be allowed to place their offers.

The offer assessment is going to be based on price (80%) and guarantee (20%). Delivery of the ammunition is expected to be completed by October 31st, 2022.
