The Supervisory Board of PGZ accepted the recommendation for the president of the management board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa as part of the competition. As the Group officially confirmed after a publication by Defence24.pl, Krzysztof Trofiniak is to be the head of the management board.

As Defence24.pl learned unofficially, the Supervisory Board made a recommendation regarding the election of the president of the management board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. The competition was held at the end of February, but the defense holding did not inform about the results of the procedure. According to unofficial information, there were frictions within the ruling coalition regarding the composition of the management board and the vision of the further operation of PGZ.

According to unofficial information from Defence24.pl – later confirmed officially by PGZ - Krzysztof Trofiniak is to become the president of the Polish Armaments Group. He was closely associated with Huta Stalowa Wola. In the years 2008-2015 he was the president of the management board of HSW, and he was employed in the company in the years 1989-2015. In turn, in 2014-2015 he was vice-president of the Polish Armaments Group. In the period 2008-2015, he was also a member of the management board and chairman of the Association of Employers of Defense and Aviation Industry Enterprises. From 2017, he was the president of Fabryka Maszyn Lubaczów Sp. z o. o.

According to PGZ, Krzysztof Trofiniak is to take over the responsibilities of PGZ CEO on 25 March.

Formally, after the competition results, the candidates for the president and members of the management board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa must still be assessed by the Ministry of State Assets.

Until the second half of 2024, the management board of PGZ was headed by Sebastian Chwałek, a close associate of the former head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak. After Chwałek’s dismissal, the duties of the president of PGZ were performed by Tomasz Siemiątkowski, delegated from the Supervisory Board after changes in its composition carried out by the General Meeting of Shareholders on February 12. At the same time, a competition was announced for the president and members of the management board.
