The leaders signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, elevating the level of the strategic partnership that has linked the two countries since 2013. Both sides expressed their commitment to developing bilateral cooperation in advanced industry, science and technology, energy, space, and infrastructure.

Donald Tusk emphasised that the defence industry remains a priority in Poland’s bilateral relations with Korea. The Polish Prime Minister hopes to achieve a more balanced trade relationship between the two nations. Poland primarily imports goods from Korea, while Polish companies are not sufficiently represented in the Korean market. Talks will be held on expanding Polish exports, including food products.

President Lee stated that under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, cooperation will be broadened to include supply chains, energy, infrastructure, science, and technology, including the space sector.

South Korea is currently the largest Asian investor in key sectors of the Polish economy. Following his visit to Seoul, Donald Tusk will travel to Tokyo, Japan, where he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
