New President of the Mesko Company

Back on Monday, the supervisory board of the Mesko company has dismissed the President - Waldemar Skowron. He has been replaced by Mariusz Kolankowski.

On Monday, 15th May, Waldemar Skowron has been removed from the post of the President of the Mesko S.A. company. The media suggest that the former President would leave the enterprise after spending 34 years working there. Mariusz Kolankowski became the new President of the Mesko S.A. entity.

The fact has been confirmed by Bartosz Kownacki, Secretary of State at the Polish MoD, via his Twitter account. Kownacki thanked Skowron for the collaboration that took place so far.

According to the officially released information, Mariusz Kolankowski is to be in possession of several years of experience in business management and optimization, and also within the scope of widely understood restructuring processes, aimed at raising the profitability and maximizing the economic efficacy of the businesses. Since the very beginning of his professional career, he has been working at managerial positions at companies, in the areas of finances, insurance, banking and in the automotive industry. He has also been dealing with the issues related to development of the defence industry. He graduated from the University of Warsaw. Directly before he was appointed to become a President of the Mesko Company he was working as the President of Wojskowe Zakłady Kartograficzne [Military Cartographic Works], belonging to the Polish Treasury.

As the managerial changes happened, Wojciech Orzeł has been also appointed as a new member of the board, filling in the vacancy at the position of Vice-President for Finances.

The main job for Mesko S.A. is to deliver ammunition and rockets for the Polish Armed Forces and other entities responsible for national security. Moreover, the said enterprise has also been dealing with researching the new technologies. The last of the significant agreements signed by Mesko S.A. is the contract concluded in December 2016, assuming that 1300 Piorun MANPADS missiles along with 420 launchers, would be procured, with the said procurement being covered with an amount of PLN 932 million. A couple of days ago, a negotiation procedure has began, to deliver ammunition with high-explosive training rounds and inert and training ammunition for the Leopard 2A4 tanks.
